Aid from the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF)

HFF PROTEIN SUR S.L. has received a grant from the European Union under the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF) Programme for Andalusia 2021-2027 for the adaptation of facilities to install a hydrolysed protein processing plant in Ayamonte (Huelva), with a budget of €4,960,910.50.

This project aims to transform a common challenge in the fishing industry: the use of discarded fish that lack significant commercial value and create economic difficulties for fishermen as raw material for our production process. Through the application of fish hydrolysis technology, we intend to add value to underutilised catches.

This innovative approach will not only contribute to environmental sustainability by preventing the waste of fishery resources, but will also generate economic opportunities for fishermen and canneries by transforming a low-value product into a high-value one, such as fish hydrolysate, with various applications in the food industry and animal feed. The project will be implemented from July 9, 2024, to January 15, 2026.
